Hello! You are a spy for the U.S. government looking for intel on snobby rich elementary students at Richfield Elementary School in Manhattan, New York. Principal Giffy has hired you on as a classroom aide for Mrs. Boznia's fourth grade class. No one knows your true intentions except for your agency and the principal. He believes that this specific class has been causing trouble on the playground and he wants you to get to the bottom of it. You must choose wisely or you'll be looped in anyways. Are you in, Agent?
[[I'd rather drop dead|No way]]!You think this mission is for a panzy and decide you want to find a new assignment to take on. You contact your boss and demand something else, but he says you have to do this mission or your fired.
[[Fine|Fine]](set: $count to 0)You can't believe it! Since when do you not get to choose your missions? Your boss is always giving you the most simple tasks that are so silly they shouldn't be missions for badass adult agents. Maybe you can get out of it!
[[Yeah right!|escape]]Ha! You can't get out of this one. The boss makes you take this mission because he said the other ones are for more qualified agents. You shake your head but put on a fake smile and decide to start over. Maybe this mission won't be so bad, right?
[[It's gonna suck|Transition]](set: $count to it + 1)
(if: $count is 3) [(goto: "Mission")]
(else:) [(goto: "No mission")]**Day 1**
You report to Richfield Elementary after spending the weekend studying your case file on the mission. Mrs. Boznia's class goes out on the playground twice a day for 30 minutes, and during those times, chalk goes missing, lunches and snacks are stolen, and some kids have mysteriously fallen off the jungle gym a few too many times. It was very suspicious, and you were going to get to the bottom of this before the week was over.
As you walk into the school, you head straight into Principal Giffy's office. He ushers you in quickly and closes the door after you. "Have a seat Agent." He briefs you on Mrs. Boznia's class schedule and tells you the lunch recess will be at noon and the afternoon recess is always at 2:30 p.m. before school lets out. But you barely listen as you wonder if anyone's told the Principal that his name sounds like the brand of peanut butter. You let out a small snort and realize Principal Giffy is staring at you confused.
[[Tell him the lame joke you fool|Tell joke]]
[[Hold it in and make up an excuse|Cover]]As you and Principal Giffy head towards the fourth grade wing, you hear him muttering ahead of you and hear broken phrases like "bad agent" and "the boss was right". You just ignore it and continue to dread this mission.
You reach a door that's cracked open with bloody handprint tracings cover the outside of the dark, oak door. The names of several people are scattered across each handprint. Your eyes must show your discomfort because Principal Giffy smiles and laughs, saying," The blood isn't real. It's almost Halloween and each teacher chooses how they decorate their door for our contest. The class who wins gets a pizza party. Are you always this way around blood Agent? Don't you see crime scenes all the time that are worse than a little fake blood?" You swallow a lump in your throat before laughing awkwardly and assuring the principal that you were just kidding. He looks at you in disbelief before knocking on the door.
You step into the classroom and see a young, red-headed woman at the chalkboard writing some math equation and 22 pairs of eyes staring daggers at you.
[[Talk to the teacher first| Teacher]]
[[Say something to the students| Students]]"Hello, you must be Mrs. Bosnia. My name is Vincent Husker and I will be your classroom aide for the school year!" You shake her cold, nimble hand and smile brightly. She gives you a smirk and tells you to go stand in the back and make sure the kids are paying attention. You groan internally and go to the back. Principal Giffy says hello to the students and gives you a blank stare before walking out of the room. *Oh great, this will be fun.*
Mrs. Bosnia continues to teach whatever math lesson is happening today and I feel myself start to doze off in the desk behind all the students. You can't wait for this day to be done already. "Mr. Husker, care to join us in the land of the awake?"
[[Uh oh!|See what happens]]You look around, absorbing every single aspect of the class room. Hanging from the ceilings are little tiny Halloween decorations in preparation for the pending holiday. Many look scary, as if the children had evil thoughts about what Halloween ghosts and goblins looked like. Each child was looking at him with brows furrowed and snarls forming. He grew uneasy, but knew he had to try and face his fear and speak to the them like an agent should.
"Hello kids, my name is Mr. Husker and I'll be your classroom aid this year! I can't wait to get to know you all and help you succeed in your learning. Who likes candy?" This changed the children from scary to happy in less than a second. Everyone was shouting "ME!" and raising their hands for candy. You let a huge breath go as you had found your in to gain trust with the class. Mrs. Bosnia looked on with a curious look on her face and nodded her approval to hand out candy. Principal Giffy looked impressed and said under his breath, "Damn, this agent may not be so bad after all." You smile as you got yourself the perfect opportunity to solve the issues happening at this school.
The bell rings for lunch, and the kids want you to come sit with them. But you also needed to find time to explore the school and look for clues to who was causing trouble on the playground. What should you do?
[[Go and gain trust with some kids|Go to lunch]]
[[Do your job and explore the school|Look for clues]]**Day 2**
You did not get off to a good start at the school, seemingly setting you back several steps in finishing the mission. The next day when the lunch bell rings, Mrs. Bosnia summons you to come with her. You nervously follow behind her as you weave your way to the teacher's lounge. She obviously thinks you're unqualified for the position, and you feel she'll chew you out for it. You enter a double door entrance to the lounge, not expecting how nice it is. The lounge has fancy movie theater recliner chairs surrounding a massive flat screen TV. There's a brightly lit and modern chef's kitchen on the side of the room. A air hockey table and pool table sit behind the recliners ready to be played. "Wow, they really treat you well here!" Mrs. Bosnia just ignores you and gestures towards a table near the kitchen. *Okay that was weird. She could be a bit nicer..*
You sit down feeling on edge for what she's going to say. Mrs. Bosnia stares at you for awhile before opening a manila file folder she pulled out of nowhere. After what feels like centuries, she finally speaks. "I know who you are and you're done here. Stop investigating my classroom because I know Principal Giffy hired you. You don't have to investigate because it was me. I have been stealing those little brats lunches, pushing them off the jungle gym, and making their stupid little chalk disappear. They need to learn to behave, and I won't have you ratting me out and getting me fired!" She pulls out a stun gun and points it at you, making you panic. What should you do?
[[Quick, grab a pair of scissors from the kitchen|Grab scissors]]
[[Just run and hope for the best|Run]]You decide you want to build trust with the kids before you explore other parts of the school. You hope one of the kids can tell you what you need so you don't have to do the work. If you do well and complete the mission successfully, you get a few months of paid vacation and can finally go traveling across the globe. As you make your way to the cafeteria, you shake off your hopes and dreams and start observing the students. You see that most of the class is split into two different cliques. One group is full of all boys, who seem to be more athletic and try to be cool at one table, and the other group is almost all girls with a few boys at another table. But a third table has only four kids, who seem to be the outcasts without a place in the other cliques. You decide to choose the group that would want to fit in and would have the best observation skills helpful to your investigation...
[[Choose the third group|Outcasts]]"I'll catch you kids out at recess later, okay? I have some school duties to finish up first. See you later!" The kids filter out quickly and soon it's just you and Mrs. Bosnia. She asks you if you want to head to the teacher's lounge at which you politely refuse. She shrugs and walks out the classroom door.
*Finally! Time to find out who's been causing a disturbance on the playground.* You start by searching the student's desks for anything suspicious and come up empty. You make your way towards Mrs. Bosnia's desk and make quick work of her things, also finding nothing. You start to feel frustrated but work your way through the school. You search the janitorial closets, the gym, the art studio, the playground, and pretty much every area where no one was looking. As you begin to give up, you notice a noise coming from the front office and decide to investigate.
You reach the door to the office and find it's locked, and the blinds to the office are closed. Bright light that flickers comes through the blinds, and you can tell it's a TV playing. Near you there's a storage closet and you reach up and find a key on the top ledge of the door. You grab it and decide to try it on the front office door.
[[Unlock the door]]You leap out of your chair, just dodging the gun's stunning power as she shoots at you. You are able to dive behind the kitchen island and reach for a pair of scissors laying across the counter. As you pull the scissors down to you, you shout **AH HA!** and jump up on your feet. But as you extend the scissors out threateningly towards Mrs. Bosnia, you realize they're safety scissors, like the ones kids use.
"You really think we get adult scissors in an elementary school? You lose Husker, or should I say agent. Ha! Some agent you are. Prepare to be stunned!" A flash of light nearly blinds you as you feel electricity flow through your body.
The last thing you see is Mrs. Bosnia ripping off her face and showing Principal Giffy dragging you away.
DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN!
**The end**
(link: "Restart")[(reload:)]You leap out of your seat and narrowly miss the stun gun's aim, which passes your chest by a milimeter. One of the windows is open and you take a chance and leap out of it, rolling down the grassy hill towards a small creek. You make a small **SPLASH!** as you stop suddenly in the creek. You feel dazed for a moment before getting up and dashing towards the parking lot. You continue to look behind your shoulder waiting to find Mrs. Bosnia chasing after you, but there's no sign of her.
You slide into your car and peel out of the parking lot as fast as possible, racing towards work. You call up your boss and report what happened. He yells at you for not seeing it sooner and puts you on unpaid leave for a month. "You are worst agent on our squad, Husker. Now get back to headquarters and start your re-training on how to be an average, unlikeable agent, and stop with the peanut butter jokes. Yeah that's right, the principal called me and told me how terrible it was!"
You get vacation time so you don't even care that you aren't funny. As soon as you finished your training, it was time to start packing for Tahiti!
**The end**
(link: "Restart")[(reload:)]You grab lunch from the grab n' go area of the cafeteria and walk over to the third table. They were some of the most eager kids when you passed out candy, so you weren't worried they wouldn't want you to sit with them. "Hey kids, can I join you? I wanted to get to know some of my cool students on the first day!" Two of the students moved so there was an empty seat in the middle of all of them and you grinned brightly at all of them as you began to eat. They all introduce themselves and begin asking you questions before you bud in and start getting answers.
"So kids, I heard that there's been some trouble out on the playground recently and I was wondering if you knew anything about it?" You are met with a lot of hushed whispers and uncertain glances between the four kids. They seem nervous to tell you what they know, but Julia, a shy girl with curly brown hair and thick-rimmed glasses pipes up, saying, "Yeah, us four are often the targets of bullies. That table of boys over there are who steal our chalk, pull our hair, steal our lunches, and push us off the jungle gym." Julia points to Jimmy, who is sitting right next to her, and says, "He just got his cast off from the last time he went on the jungle gym. A group of the boys pushed him off the big spider web climbing structure and broke his arm in three places. They are so mean to us and call us nerds. We are NOT nerds!"
You remember when you were in school and the exact same thing happened to you. You were the nerdy boy who got pushed around. You feel anger, hurt, and sadness for the kids, and decide you must do something.
[[Go talk to the boys at table one|Boys chat]]You try and withhold your childhood anger as you go and plop in the only empty seat available at the boy's table. They all high-five you and ask for more candy before asking you questions about sports and video games. After chatting with them for a little while, you start to build up the courage to straighten them out.
"Hey boys, I wanted to talk to you about something. Do you know what happens when you grow up and continue to hurt people like you did as a child? You don't get jobs or girls you want because they don't want to be around someone who hurts other people. So, if you want to have a good future, I suggest leaving other kids in your class alone that aren't as sporty as you or you don't have much in common with because it'll hurt you later. Can you guys do that? I'll even throw a football around with you all at recess every day if you promise to be kind to your classmates and make good choices." You wait for their responses, unsure if you'll get through to them.
[[They react well| Good response]]
As you jiggle the key in the door quietly, you hear the door *click* and slowly sneak your way in. What you see is awfully unsettling.
In a office chair behind the secretary's desk is your boss, eating applesauce and munching on chips from a bag with the name "Julia" written on it. Scattered across the desk is more lunch bags of students in your class. Sitting on the floor near an old fashioned TV on a wheeled cart are three students from your class: Julia, Nick, and Steve. They are transfixed by a video of your boss talking about bullying people and stealing their lunches. You are in shock. Your boss turns around and notices you there and smirks with an evil look in his blacked eyes. "W-what are you doing boss? You c-can't be behind all this. You sent me here!" Your boss cackles and continues to munch on chips.
"This was my plan all along. I had to trip you up and make you fail so I could finally fire you. And, this was fun! I got these brats to do my bidding on the playground without being suspected myself! The principal thought I was coming to observe your mission. HA! You couldn't have sniffed this one out if you tried. You're fired agent!" You start to grin however, making your boss confused.
[[Tell him why|You won]]*3 months later...*
You have been running the agency for months, guiding agents in training and making sure the success rates were high for missions. Unfortunately, you suck as an agent and as the boss of agents. So after only 3 months, the CEO of the agency fires you and takes away your badge. You are no longer an agent.
And yes, you were never a good agent like everyone said.
**The end**
(link: "Restart")[(reload:)]You don't want to go on this mission. It sounds stupid and you believe you're a better agent than everyone else thinks. Will you do this mission?
[[No way]] "Sorry Mr. Giffy, I was thinking about your last name and I was wondering if you get comments about it being like the brand of peanut butter?" The principal just glares at you and says, "Agent, let's just focus on the task at hand here. Now, let's go introduce you to the class."
He's obviously annoyed with you already and you can't understand why. You were just trying to lighten the mood. Geez.
[[Head to the classroom with peanut butter man|classroom]]You try to think of an excuse real quick because you need to make a good impression or your boss will kill you. And you HATE (color: black)[blood!]
(color: yellow)[Lightbulb!]
"I apologize sir. I'm just so happy to be helping you with this job and I laugh when I'm excited." The principal looks pleased and waves off the apology before saying, "Wonderful! I'm glad you are enthusiastic and I hope you are ready for the mission. We need your best wit to solve the issues here at Richfield Elementary. Now, why don't we go meet your class?"
[[Go meet the class|classroom]]
[[Tell him the joke anyways, it's too funny!|Tell joke]]The boys all look at each other before nodding in agreement and giving you more high-fives and fist bumps.
The bell rings for recess and the boys all shout for you to come along. You tell them you'll be right there and head back over to the four kids you sat with earlier. "You know, I think you won't have any more problems with those boys after today. Enjoy your recess and go climb on that spider web, it'll be worth it!" Julia comes and hugs you and whispers *thank you* before heading out to recess.
Later you report what had been happening to Principal Giffy and tell him it was solved. You call your boss and tell him you quit and that you were going to work at the school, hoping to continue to make a difference in the daily lives of elementary school students.
**The end**
(link: "Restart")[(reload:)]"You see boss, this was my first day, and I solved it before the end of the day. I went looking for clues and I found you. How obvious could you be? If anything, you're the bad agent because you got caught being the villian. So actually you're fired!" Your boss looks dumbfounded as he realizes what you've said. He scratches his head and says,"Wow, you're right for once. I didn't see that coming. I guess this means you're the boss now. Here you go boss!" Your boss hands you his badge and shakes your hand, walking out the front door with confusion still evident on his face. You can't believe this is real. You, the boss?
You shrug and decide it wouldn't hurt to show everyone how good you were. As you walked out of the school, you couldn't help but feel shocked on how the day went.
[[3 months later...|future]]You feel embarressed and nervously look up at Mrs. Bosnia. Everyone else is staring at you and a few have evil grins on their faces. You see the teacher glaring at you with her arms crossed and she taps her foot rhythmically to the sound of your silence. "Uh... ha um you see, I was so nervous to come and help your class today that I didn't sleep well last night. It won't happen again, I apoligize."
Suddenly the bell rings, but no one moves a muscle. Mrs. Bosnia stares at you as she says, "Time for recess class, you may go." The children get up and shuffle out, with you tagging along behind them. "Eh HEM! Not you Mr. Husker." You gulp as you turn to face her. She firmly tells you that you will be trained by her tomorrow during the two recesses on the classroom rules and expectations.
[[Oh boy, tomorrow will be a bad day!|Day 2]]
